A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE CITY OF JONESBORO'S WILLINGNESS TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID ENHANCEMENT MONIES (MAIN STREET)

WHEREAS, the City Council understands that Federal-Aid Surface Transportation Enhancement funds are available at 80% federal participation and 20% local cash match for the Main Street Jonesboro Streetscape Enhancement Project (consisting of sidewalk reconstruction, curb and gutter reconstruction, sprinkler system, utility relocations, crosswalks, decorative street lights, trees and landscaping, and trash receptacles and benches);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the City will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of this project.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of this project.
SECTION 3. That the Jonesboro City Council pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to construct this project.
