AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

(N side of Highland Dr., E of Amanda St., Rufus Roedel)

 

A part of the SE 1/4, SW 1/4 of Section 23, T14N, R4E, being more particularly described as follows:

 

TRACT I All of the South 460 feet of the West Half of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 23, T14N, R4E, less the East 489 feet thereof and less the West 75 feet thereof;

 

TRACT II Beginning at a point which is 40 feet North and 1,070 feet West of the Southeast corner of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 23; thence run West 79 feet; thence run north 420 feet; thence run East 79 feet; thence run South 420 feet to the point of beginning;

 

TRACT III Beginning at a point which is 40 feet North and 975 feet West from the Southeast corner of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 23; thence run West 95 feet; thence run North 420 feet; thence run East 95 feet; thence run South 420 feet to the point of beginning.                     

 

These descriptions being subject to 60' street right-of-way from the centerline of Ark. Hwy #18.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
