AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 12.08 OF THE JONESBORO CODE OF ORDINANCES ALLOWING MOTOR VEHICLES IN CRAIGHEAD FOREST PARK

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Jonesboro to protect and preserve the plant life and the natural beauty of Craighead Forest Park;
WHEREAS, the City desires to deter the driving of vehicles in undesignated areas at Craighead Forest Park;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: That previous Ordinance No. 1868, Section 1 now codified as 12.08.01 shall be amended to include the following sentence: it shall be a violation of the laws of the City of Jonesboro for any person to ride or drive any motor vehicle, including automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, motor scooters, three-wheelers and four or six-wheeled all terrain vehicles in Craighead Forest Park except on paved roads, parking areas, or other designated areas.
SECTION 2: That previous Ordinance No. 1868, Section 3 now codified as 12.08.03 shall be amended to include the following sentence: Any person adjudged guilty of violation of this ordinance shall upon conviction be fined an amount of not less than $150.00.
SECTION 3: The Mayor, Doug Formon and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
