AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1977 DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, Ordinance 1977 was adopted by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, on April 21, 1986; and

WHEREAS, said Ordinance annexed certain lands described therein and zoned same as R -2; and

WHEREAS, said zoning classification was incorrect and should have been R -1. (Medallion Acres)

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

SECTION 1: That Section 4 of Ordinance 1977 be and in hereby amended to read “Said lands and territory annexed to the City of Jonesboro are hereby zoned Residential (R-1)”.

SECTION 2: It is hereby found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that there is now an extreme urgency that Ordinance 1977 be amended as stated above thereby correcting the zoning classification to R -1. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21^st day of August, 1989.
