AN ORDINANCE FOR ABANDONMENT OF ALLEY

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. In compliance with law, a petition has been filed with the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas, on the 2nd day of February, 1952, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon all that portion of the alley or alleys designated on Plat of Krewson’s Subdivision of Jonesboro College Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, as appears in Deed Record 48, page 126, of the Records of the Western District of Craighead County, Arkansas, that exist on said Plat north of Lot 1, and west of Lots 1 through 8, and 11 through 28, of Block “C” of the said subdivision. Notice as required by law, having been given and at the date and time designated, the Council having heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question, and it being ascertained that the alley described has not been actually used by the public for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing of the Plat; that said alley or alleys were never in fact opened to or used by the public; that all the owners of property abutting on said alleys have filed with the Council their written consent and petition for such abandonment; that the public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such alley.
SECTION 2. The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally in and to the alley designated as:
That part of alley or alleys designated on Plat of Krewson’s Subdivision of Jonesboro College Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, as appears in Deed Record 48, page 126, of the Records of the Western District of Craighead County, Arkansas, that exist on said plat north of Lot 1, and West of Lots 1 through 8 and 11 through 28, of Block “C” of the said subdivision.
