AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF DIRT WORK FOR THE ALBERTO FACTORY FOR STREET DEPARTMENT.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION ONE: That the Street Department of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas needs to purchase stripping of 61,000 sq years of topsoil from the Alberto factory location.
SECTION TWO: That said services may be purchased from Cameron Construction Co of Jonesboro, AR, for the written sum of $39,750.00 be paid from the Street department, line item 02-100-0233-00.
SECTION THREE: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order for the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
SECTION FOUR: It is further found that due to immediate need to acquire these services, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
SECTION FIVE: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into this contract and to execute all documents necessary.
