REVENUE SHARING BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING SPECIAL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING JANUARY 7, 1980

The Jonesboro City Council held a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, for the purpose of explaining the 1980 Revenue Sharing Budget and to receive input from the audience and council. Herb Davis, Finance Director explained the budget to those present.

CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 7, 1980

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session, Monday, January 7, 1980, at 7:30 p.m. Present: Mayor, City Clerk and all elected aldermen. Absent: City Attorney.

The minutes of December 17, 1979, were approved as mailed on motion by Mr. Park, second by Mr. Hannah and unanimous vote of council.

Mr. Hannah moved that a Public Hearing scheduled for January 21 at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of vacating and abandoning Teasdale Drive. The motion was duly second and all council voted aye.

The following bids were considered for police department uniforms:

Pants (uniform) 1.25 1.25 1.75

The low bid from Jonesboro Laundry was approved on motion by Mr. Hannah, second by Mr. Stricklin and all council voted aye.

The following ordinance was on 2nd reading:

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FAIR HOUSING RIGHTS TO ALL CITIZENS OF ARKANSAS

On motion by Mr. Sanderson, duly second by Mr. Hinson, the rules were suspended and the ordinance was placed on third and final reading. Mr. Sanderson then moved for the adoption of the ordinance, second by Mr. Hinson and all council voting aye. The ordinance was given the number 1705.

Mr. Hannah offered the following amendments to the 1980 Budget:

Line Item Expenses reduced from 2000 to 715 in the Parks Budget
Line Item Misc. increased from 2700 to 3985 in the Parks Budget
