CITY COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY NIGHT MARCH 13, 1972

The City Council met in a special session March 13, 1972, in City Hall at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Pierce, Park, Dr. Bowers, Williams, Darling Stricklin, Minx, Smith, Bowers, Harris, Johnson and Knight.

The matter for discussion was the townhouse development on East Nettleton. Charles Mooney, Attorney for the property owners spoke against the project. Neal Thayer also spoke against it. He was representing the group as their spokesman. City Attorney Warren Dupwe advised that the planning commission had not violated the law by granting approval of the project. One of the planners showed Council the plan and answered questions. Others were heard also. After the discussion, Mr. Darling moved with Mr. Scott Harris seconding the motion that the Metropolitan Planning Commissions approval of Oakwood Acres be rescinded. On calling the roll, Mr. Knight voted nay and all other members voted aye. The motion was carried.

There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
