A RESOLUTION TO NAME THE CITY PARK AT NORTH MAIN AND ALLEN STREET THE REVEREND DR. HERMAN LEWELLEN PARK

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to name the city park located at North Main and Allen Street after the late Reverend Dr. Herman Lewellen.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

Section 1: The unnamed park located at the corner of North Main and Allen Street shall be named “Reverend Dr. Herman Lewellen Park”.

Section 2:  RES-05:402 provides the criteria which is the basis for naming the above referenced park. The late Reverend Dr. Herman Lewellen was a minister, community leader and outstanding citizen of the City of Jonesboro for 50 years. The naming of this park in memory of him is a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much to this city and its residents.
