AN ORDINANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF DELETING THE POSITION OF ANIMAL CONTROL DIRECTOR AND CONVERTING ONE TEMPORARY FULL-TIME ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER TO A REGULAR FULL-TIME ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER WITH THE CUSTOMARY COMPENSATIONS AND BENEFITS FOR THE POSITION

Body

WHEREAS, the Animal Control Division has been moved under the direction of the Police Department; and

 

WHEREAS, the Animal Control Director’s position has been replace by a Police Department Supervisor; and

 

WHEREAS, there exists a need to change a temporary full-time Animal Control Officer position to a regular full-time Animal Control Officer as recommended by the Public Safety Committee and the Finance Committee;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

SECTION 1: The position of Animal Control Director be deleted from the organization structure of the City of Jonesboro and the position of temporary full-time Animal Control Officer be changed to regular full-time Animal Control Officer with the customary compensations and benefits for the position.

 

SECTION 2: There are sufficient funds in the budget and no additional money will need to be appropriated.

 

SECTION 3: Due to the immediate need to facilitate efficient operations of the Jonesboro Police Department there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
