AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) COMPLETELY INSTALLED 15' DUMP BODIES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That the MATA Department (Gravel Road Project) needs to purchase the following: Two (2) 15' 12-15 CUBIC YARD DUMP BODIES. Completely installed on a 1994 and 1995 Ford Cab and Chassis.
SECTION 2: That such equipment can be purchased from Davis Trailer & Truck Equipment located in Little Rock, Arkansas, for the sum of Eleven Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($11,930.00), which includes sales tax.
SECTION 3: That the City Council, in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302(2) (b) hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above. Said amount shall be paid by money from the MATA Department (Gravel Road Project GL 708).
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above machinery, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its approval.
