AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:
From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Part of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 9, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, and being more particularly described as follows: Commence at the Northwest corner of the Northwest 1/4 of said Section 9, thence South 1051.5 feet; thence North 89°19'29" East 635.0 feet to the point of beginning; thence continue North 89°19'29" East 635.0 feet; thence South 1°59'28" West 59.00 feet; thence South 63°14'00" East 181.49 feet to the West right-of-way of Highway No. 1; thence along said right-of-way South 33°48'15" West 502.65 feet; thence North 14°26' East 62.35 feet; thence South 89°6' West 562.83 feet; thence North 3°37'9" East 499.5 feet to the point of beginning, containing 7.93 acres.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
