AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON THE, UNIMPROVED STREET RIGHT OF WAY FOR UNION STREET LOCATED BETWEEN POINTS 258.70 FEET AND 410.06 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF BURKE AVENUE

BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
 
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the streets designated as follows:
 
The unimproved street right of way for Union Street running north from a point 258.70 feet north of the north right of way line of Burke Avenue to a point 410.06 feet north of the north right of way line of Burke Avenue, with said right of way being 60' in width, all located in the northeast quarter of the Southwest Quarter of       Section 18; Township 14 North; Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas.
 
SECTION 2: A copy of the ordinance certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Craighead County, Arkansas and shall be filed in the Deed Records of such office.
 
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas finds and declares that the above streets and portions of streets are not necessary for the general benefit and welfare of the public; that the owners of all the property abutting the above streets are in favor of the closure and vacation of the above street and that therefore an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of February, 2005.
