AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission ( RZ 90-10 ) by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial ( I-1 ) the following described property: (E. Side of S. Caraway Rd., N of Hwy. 1 -- Jonesboro Memorial Service)

 

TRACT 2-A: Part of the West Half of the NW 1/4 of Section 9, T13N, R4E, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northwest corner of said tract thence run south 1051.5 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence run South 250.25 feet; thence run North 88° 43’ East 619.7 feet; thence run North 3°37’ East 242.5 feet; thence run South 89°28' West 635 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 3.55 acres, more or less.

 

TRACT 2-B: Part of the West Half of the NW 1/4 of Section 9, T13N, and R4E more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northwest corner of said tract; thence run South 1301.75 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence run South 250.25 feet; thence run North 89°15' East 603.5 feet; thence run North 3° 37' East 257 feet: thence run South 88°43' West 619.7 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 3.55 acres, more or less, also known as Jernigan Acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance. Being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
