City of Jonesboro received the property from Dr. Harvey Edwards in 2012 due to the Edwards' lawsuit regarding methane gas. The City purchased the property from Dr. Edwards in compliance with the court judgement. During the process, the City found several properties that had encroached on this property. Those property owners then purchased their encroachments from the City, with the exception of James & Lajana Washam (see RES-12:046). No deed was received for the sale of that property.
The City then sold the property to St. Bernards Village, Inc.
