AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 05-2007 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING FIVE PART TIME POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS IN THE 2007 BUDGET

Body

WHEREAS, the addition of five additional Part Time Patrolman positions is needed to augment the capabilities of the Jonesboro Police Department Uniform Patrol Division, and;

WHEREAS, the addition of five additional Part time Patrolman positions has been recommended by the Public Safety Committee and the Finance Committee;

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION 1:  The 2007 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro is amended by the addition of five Part Time Patrolman's positions to facilitate uniformed patrol enforcement in the Police Department.

SECTION 2:  There are sufficient funds in the budget and no additional money will need to be appropriated.

SECTION 3:  Due to the immediate need to facilitate efficient operations of the Jonesboro Police Department there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
