A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING SIX FULL TIME TRANSPORTATION CAPTAIN POSITIONS TO THE JONESBORO ECONOMICAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

WHEREAS, It has been determined that arrival of three new buses to be added to the JETS fleet, the addition of six full time Transportation Captains are necessary for the efficient operations of the Transportation System;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:

SECTION ONE: The position of Transportation Captain already exists in the City of Jonesboro Pay Plan (Resolution 2004:02) in Grade 9.

SECTION TWO:  The 2007 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro will not be affected by the addition of the Transit Captains.

SECTION THREE:  The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) filed with the FTA and DOT for fiscal year 2008 includes these positions and no additional money will need to be appropriated.

SECTION FOUR:  Due to the immediate need to facilitate efficient operations of the Transportation Department this resolution shall be effective immediately.
