AN ORDINANCE  EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO UTILIZE MATCHING  FUNDS FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND TOURISM FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE JOE MACK CAMPBELL PARK, JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, the City Council of the Jonesboro. Arkansas has applied for funding and understands that a State Grant through the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism's Outdoor Recreation Program is available at 50% State funds and 50% City matching participation for the Jonesboro Community Park or the Joe Mack Campbell Park for outdoor recreation development.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

 

SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro is willing to provide the required 50% matching fund of $100,000 for the Joe Mack Campbell Park outdoor recreation program, which is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated general fund balance.

 

SECTION 2: As Chief Executive Officer, Mayor Hubert Brodell is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to enter into with the State Department of Parks and Tourism.

 

SECTION 3: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its' passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of June, 2000.
