RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, EXTENDING A MORATORIUM ON PERMITS FOR THE LOCATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF OFF-PREMISES BILLBOARDS AND HIGH-POLE SIGNS AND FOR COMMUNICATION TOWERS

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission is recommending  ordinances to establish standards for the location, development, construction and maintenance of Off-Premise Outdoor Advertising Signs and for Wireless Communication Facilities; and

 

WHEREAS, there is a need to adopt the ordinances by reference pursuant to ACA 14-55-207,  and to provide public notice of the City’s intent, advising the public that three (3) copies are on file and available for public review in the Office of the City Clerk; and

 

WHEREAS, the moratorium expires this day, November 17, 2003 as established by Resolution Number 2003:74.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

1.                     A moratorium is hereby extended on the issuance of permits for the erection of billboards, high-pole signs, and communication towers until December 1, 2003 allowing for public notification of the adoption of the ordinances by reference.

 

2.                     This resolution shall take effect immediately.
