A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ACCEPT THE LOW BID AND ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO GIBSON SIGN-MART FOR THE REFINISHING OF SIX (6) WELCOME TO JONESBORO SIGNS

WHEREAS, there are six (6) “Welcome to Jonesboro” sign locations that the City recently researched re-facing to reflect a recent branding recommendations study by Jonesboro Unlimited; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has an opportunity to update the “Welcome to Jonesboro” signs to incorporate the new imagery now being used by multiple organizations in the city in an effort to promote a unified brand; and
WHEREAS, at least 3 of the signs are currently planned to be backlit due to the availability of an electric connection at the site; and
WHEREAS, the project would not permanently alter the existing signs in a way that could not be restored or changed in the future should the City chose to revert back to current signage; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder and the company selected for this project is Gibson Sign-Mart; and
WHEREAS, Jonesboro Advertising and Promotions has pledged to contribute $15,000 to the overall project; and
WHEREAS, funding for the execution of the Purchase Order shall come from the Capital Improvement Carryover budget and compensation shall be paid in accordance with the terms of the Bid Number 2023:18.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City of Jonesboro shall accept the low bid and issue a Purchase Order for the refinishing of six (6) “Welcome to Jonesboro” signs to Gibson Sign-Mart.
Section 2. The funding for the execution of the agreement shall come from Capital Improvement Carryover budget and compensation shall be paid in accordance with the terms of Bid Number 2023:18.
Section 3. The Purchasing Agent is directed to issue a Purchase Order for this project.
