The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, July 8, 1976 in the Court Room at City Hall.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Ralph Morrison.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Morrison, Smith, Ball, McDaniel, and Gott.

MEMBERS ABSENT: Cooper, Wheeless, Brown, and Morse.

OTHERS PRESENT: Gene Martz, O.C. Pickens, and Larry Fugate.

Items for business were as follows:

#1. A motion was made by Mr. McDaniel and seconded by Mr. Gott to APPROVE the minutes for June, 1976. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.

#2. Jim and Inez Bridger and Buddy and Patsy Bogan request a rezoning from Residential Two to Commercial Four at the following described location: Lots 71, 72, 73 and that part of Lot 70 lying south of the south right-of-way line of Arkansas Highway No. 1 and the west 120.0 feet of Lots 79, 80, 81, and 82 and that part of Lot 83 lying south of the south right-of-way line of Arkansas State Highway NO. 1 all in College Place Subdivision, Jonesboro, Arkansas. General location of this property is described as follow: Being on the south side of East Johnson Avenue between Melrose Street and State Street. A motion was made by Mr. McDaniel and seconded by Mr. Gott to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.

#3. Jonesboro Properties requests a zoning of Industrial One for a parcel or property abutting the present city limits of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Subject zoning request is submitted under the provisions of City Ordinance #1473 providing for zoning classifications prior to the subject property being annexed to the city. The MAPC is also asked to make a written statement as to what effect the proposed annexation of this parcel of property would have on the city accepting said land.
