BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by a change in the zoning classification as follows: From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-5) of the following described property:

A Part of the SW ¼ SE ¼ of Section 28, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northeast Corner of the SW ¼ SE ¼ of aforesaid Section 28; thence S 0°41’ W 395.4’ to the point of beginning proper; thence S 0°38’42” W 271.16’ to the P.T. of a 3°39’ curve to the right; thence Southwesterly along said curve 196.0’ to the P.T. of a 3°58’ curve to the left; thence Southwesterly along said curve 68.35’; thence S 89°48’ W 2.48’; thence South S 1° 33’35” W 36.21’; thence N 89°35’49” W 100.0’; thence S 1°36’41” W 84.91’ to a point on the proposed R/W line of U.S. Highway No.63: thence with the meanderings of said proposed R/W line as follows: S 89° 49’39” W 518.88’; N 73° 27’22” W 104.29’; N 56°29’48” W 180.12’; N 34°45’11” W 176.12’; N 29°19’18”W 160.98”; N 59°29’50” W 201.66’; N 3°07’06” W 51.70’; N 0° 49’10” E 85.58 to the South line of Apache Drive; thence N 89° 51’41” E 1253.52’ to the point of beginning proper, containing 15.21 acres.

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
