April 7, 2003

The meeting was called to order at 6:20 by Alderman Copeland. Aldermen Paul Copeland, Tim McCall, Chris Moore and Alec Farmer were present. Also present were Alderman John Street, and City Planner Glenn Batten.
The committee discussed the mayor’s recommendation of appointing Mitch Johnson to fill the unexpired term of Alderman John Street on the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC). Upon a motion by Alderman Farmer and a second by Alderman Moore, the committee recommended the appointment of Mitch Johnson to the MAPC to the city council.
The committee discussed the mayor’s recommendations of appointing Garry Tate to fill the unexpired term of Carla Carson and the re-appointment of Alderman Bill Roddy to the Craighead County Solid Waste Disposal Authority. Upon a motion by Alderman Moore and a second by Alderman Farmer, the committee recommended the appointment of Garry Tate to the Authority for a term to expire August 1, 2005. The committee discussed whether Alderman Roddy had complied with the council’s disclosure requirements. The committee took no action on Alderman Roddy’s appointment.
There being no further business, the committee adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
