Metropolitan Area Planning Commission Minutes
February 10, 1955
body
The City Planning Commission of Jonesboro, Arkansas, met in regular session on February 10, 1955, at 9:30 A.M., in the Chamber of Commerce Office.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Charles Frierson, Elmer Stuck, Mrs. Clifford Hill, Lloyd Rebsamen, Jesse Banks, Neal Thayer, Mayor H.H. Sanderson, and William S. Bonner
OTHERS PRESENT: Richard Forbes of the University of Arkansas Planning Division.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Dean Ellis, Al Hendrix, and Minor Markle.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Charles Frierson and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Chairman Frierson reviewed a new proposal, submitted by Mr. Bonner, for consulting services to the Jonesboro Planning Commission by the City Planning Division of the University of Arkansas. Mr. Bonner then discussed the proposal in some detail and discussion followed. It was brought out that, of the $1700.00 fee in the proposal, only about $175.00 would be the cost of producing maps.
It was moved by Elmer Stuck, seconded by Lloyd Rebsamen, and carried that the Planning Commission accept the proposal for consulting services, subject to the approval of the City Council and the appropriation of funds by the Council.
Mayor Sanderson stated that the next regular council meeting would be Monday, February 21, 1955, at 7:30 P.M., and urged that all members of the Planning Commission be present to present the merits of the proposal to the City Council.
The Commission expressed its appreciation to Mr. Bonner and Mr. Forbes for their visit and discussion of the proposal.
Meeting adjourned.
