RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH APERMA AND THE ARKANSAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE TO REPRESENT THE CITY OF JONESBORO IN OPIOID LITIGATION

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to join other cities and counties and to enter into an agreement to be represented by APERMA and the Arkansas Municipal League in upcoming opioid litigation; and
WHEREAS, said agreement is attached hereto and the terms set out therein;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro approves the Agreement with APERMA and the Arkansas Municipal League to represent the City of Jonesboro in upcoming opioid litigation. That the representation is on a contingency fee basis and the City of Jonesboro will have no out of pocket costs. The remaining terms of the Agreement are set out in the attachment.
Section 2: The Mayor, Harold Perrin and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
