BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Be Amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

From Residential R-1 to Commercial C-3 the following described property:

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

Part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas being described as follows:

Begin at the Southwest Corner of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas; thence East along the South Line of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, aforesaid, 659.40 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence North 31° 29'09" West 243.57 feet; thence North 62°02'41" East 29.68 feet; thence North 61°58'00" East 183.00 feet to the West Right Of Way Line of Arkansas State Highway 163; thence along said Right Of Line as follows: South 36°14'00" East 169.30 feet, South 35°30'58" East 210.17 feet to the South Line of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, aforesaid; thence West along said South Line 282.70 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 1.60 acres.

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
