AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF RICHMOND AVENUE

WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, June 18, 1983, praying the City Council to vacate and abandon portion of a street described as follows:
A portion of Richmond Avenue between Haltom Street running north and south and the east 125 feet of the east end of Richmond Avenue from Haltom Street along Lots 4 and 5 of Sloan’s Re-subdivision of Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 14, 15, 16 and 17 of Block “A” of Sloan’s Addition, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Said lots and streets as being platted and filed for record in Deed Record 123 Page 122 of the records in the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the Notice, heard persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the street of portion thereof, hereinbefore described, have heretofore been dedicated to the public use as a street, herein described; that all of the owners of property abutting upon the portion of the street to be vacated above, filed with the City Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such street.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 1: City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally in and to the streets described as follows:
A portion of Richmond Avenue between Haltom Street running north and south and the east 125 feet of the east end of Richmond Avenue from Haltom Street along Lots 4 and 5 of Sloan’s Re-subdivision of Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 of Block “A” of Sloan’s Addition, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
