AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A USED FIRE TRUCK

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: The City Council, by unanimous vote, finds and declares that there is a need to purchase a fire truck to be donated to the Valley View Fire district as set forth by annexation guidelines.
SECTION 2: Said fire truck may be purchased from Jon’s Truck & Equipment Sales - Rogersville, Mo. for the sum of $13,679.00. The City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase the above item.
SECTION 3: Said fire truck will be paid from the Sales Tax monies collected by the City of Jonesboro.
SECTION 4: Said fire truck is to be donated to the Valley View Fire district as it. Truck is described as a 1958 Ford with the VIN being F92F8U13494.
SECTION 5: The City Council finds and declares that the immediate purchase of the above described item is necessary for the health and welfare of the citizens of Jonesboro. There-fore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and the City Council hereby waives the usual bidding requirements and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
