AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:  

 

From Commercial (C-3) to Industrial (I-1) of property described as follows: a part of Lots 1 and 2 Block A of Rose Stickler Addition, Jonesboro, Arkansas, being more particular described as follows; Begin at the Easterly corner of Lot 2 Block A of Rose Stickler Addition to Jonesboro; Thence S 46 deg 30’W along the Westerly line of Crain Street 185.3’; thence S 0 deg 08’ E along the West line of Cain Street 14.7’ thence N 43 deg. 30’W 394.42’ along existing fence line to North Westerly line of Lot 2 existing fence corner; thence North Easterly along the North Westerly lines of Lots 1 & 2 aforesaid 144.5 to an existing fence corner which is 51.5’ South Westerly from the North Easterly line of Lot l; thence in a South Easterly direction along an existing fence line 215.3’ to a fence corner; thence North Easterly along a line parallel to the North Westerly right-of-way line of Cain Street 40.0’; thence S 43 deg. 30’ E 170.0’ to a point of beginning, containing 1.5 acres, more or less, being subject to all public and private roads and easements, all as shown on plat hereon.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of December, 1987.
