RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH A PROCEDURE FOR REVIEWING TRACTS OF LAND FOR ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY OF JONESBORO

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is called upon from time to time to annex new territories to its present corporate limits and,
WHEREAS, these annexed properties are to be brought in in varied and sundry stages of development and/or varied conditions and,
WHEREAS, it is important that the City Annex properties in a proper and orderly manner and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of establishing a procedure whereby a systematic and comprehensive procedure in reviewing tracts of land for annexation to the City should be established;
NOW, THREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
(1) All areas and/or tracts to be considered for annexation to the corporate limits of the City of Jonesboro shall not be submitted to the City Council for acceptance or rejection until a plat of the area and/or tract is submitted to the following: Mayor, City Engineer, Manager of City Water and Light, Planning Commission, City Inspector, Chief of Police and Fire Chief, and any other department of the City upon Request by said department head for review and information purposes.
(2) Prior to the Council Meeting at which the proposal for annexation to the City of Jonesboro shall be heard, the above named persons and/or commission shall submit a written report as to the effect said annexation will have on the City accepting the land.
