AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING PROCEDURES TO FACILITATE EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That the Mayor is authorized to contract with a reputable Soil engineering and testing firm to conduct such work at the Jonesboro City Landfill as is necessary to determine the sub-surface soil characteristics of the landfill.
Section 2: That the contract shall not exceed $15,000.00.
Section 3: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public peace, health, and safety and shall take effect and be ion full force from and after its passage and approval.
