APPEAL HEARING - 6:10 P.M. - The Appeal Hearing requested by Mr. Leroy Richards and his attorney, Mr. James McCauley, III was tabled until October 7, 1996. Mr. Richards was appealing the replat denial of property located west of Keller's Chapel Road by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission.

CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 3, 1996

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, September 3, 1996, at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: Hubert Brodell, Mayor; Donna K. Jackson, City Clerk; Phillip Crego, City Attorney; and 11 council members. Those members were: Vance, Wise, Province, Hannah, Young, Rega, Tate, Kelton, Perrin, Roddy, and Harpole.

The minutes of August 19, 1996, were approved as delivered by Councilman Harpole and seconded by Councilman Young. A voice vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Vance, Wise, Province, Hannah, Young, Rega, Tate, Kelton, Perrin, Roddy, and Harpole.

As the first order of business Mayor Brodell presented Certificates of Appreciation to the NEA Dream Team for capturing the BCI 11-year old National Championship, and their Coaches Mr. Plumbing, Joe Shappard, Mark Rainwater, and Mike Massengill. Other Certificates of Appreciation went to the 10-year old girl’s Dream Team who placed third in the Nationals. They were coached by Mark and Paula Gragg. The final Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the 10-And-Under Northeast Arkansas Dream Team, coached by Lester Groves and assisted by Brian Noland and Tim Hardin. Mr. Plumbing gave credit to Mayor Brodell for making it all possible. The Dream Team received a standing ovation from the Council and others present.
