AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance Number 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows: From Residential ( R-1 ) to Industrial ( I-1 ) the following described property. DESCRIPTION:

 

A Part of the West Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, being more particularly described as follows: begin at Southeast Corner of the North West Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 14 North, Range 3 East; thence North 0º04' West on the 40 acre line 902.8 feet; thence South 89º26' West 307.17 feet; thence South 0º58' East 30.55 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 0º58' East 449.93 feet; thence South 89º02' West 290.53 feet; thence North 0º58' West 449.93 feet; thence North 89º02' East 290.53 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 3.0 acres, more or less, being subject to a 30 foot street right-of- way off and across the west side thereof.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
