RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON AN ALLEY AS REQUESTED BY ROBERT MARSH AND JOHN ROBERTSON

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a Petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, requesting that the unimproved portions of an alley measuring 120 feet by 14.2 feet lying south of Lot 31 and north of Lot 31 and further lying west of Lot 16 in Block D of Dudley's Subdivision of a Part of Blocks B, C, D, E, F and G of Dudley's First Addition to the Town of Nettleton, Arkansas be vacated and abandoned; AND
WHEREAS, the petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; AND
WHEREAS, Arkansas Statute Annotated 19-3814 requires two week public notice before the above alley can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks advising the public of the request by the property owners to vacate and abandon the alley described above and this matter will be heard before the City Council on March 16, 1998 at 6:15 p.m. at 410 West Washington Avenue, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
