AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 954, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, TO REZONE FROM R-2 TO C-5, CERTAIN PROPERTY (BETWEEN 221 & 233 FISHER ST.)

WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has heard all persons desiring to be heard regarding the proposed rezoning of certain property generally located between 221 and 233 Fisher Street, and has recommended to the City Council rezoning as described below; and

 

WHEREAS, said recommendation was made with the understanding and concurrence of the applicant that the mobile home, to be used as an office, would be removed after five (5) years, or after Beacons and Bridges (a non-profit organization) business incubation project terminates, which ever occurs sooner; and that the property would be rezoned back to a compatible neighborhood classification;

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:       

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended by the change in zoning district classification, from R-2 Residential to C-5 Commercial, for the following described property: Lots 13, Block 3 of Matthews Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

SECTION 2: That said property be rezoned to a classification compatible with the neighborhood, and that the mobile home office structure be removed within five (5) years, or upon termination of Beacons and Bridges business incubation project at this location.
