APPEAL HEARING - 6:50 P.M. - In a letter from Mr. Jim Farmer a request was made for postponement of his Appeal Hearing until March 6, 1995. The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission had denied Mr. Farmer's request for rezoning from Residential One to Commercial Three, and Mr. Farmer wanted more time to prepare his case.

APPEAL HEARING - 7:15 P.M. - In a phone conversation with City Clerk, Donna Jackson, on February 1, 1995, at 9:45 a.m. Mrs. Mary Mitchell of 500 Ridge Crest, requested the Appeal Hearing scheduled for 7:15 p.m., be withdrawn from the Council's consideration. Ms. Mitchell stated she had decided to accept the decision of the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission.

CITY COUNCIL MINUTES, FEBRUARY 6, 1995

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session, Monday, February 6, 1995, at 7:30 P.M. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were the Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, and all twelve council members.

The minutes of January 16, 1995, were approved as mailed on motion by Councilman Vance seconded by Councilman Wise. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those aldermen voting aye were: Vance, Wise, Rega, Evans, Province, Young, Perrin, Tate, Kelton, Roddy, Harpole and Hannah.

Mayor Brodell read a proclamation declaring March 20, 1995, the "Day of the Arts". The Mayor's proclamation recognized the Museum Advisory Council and fifteen community leaders for planning and organizing the ASU Museum's theme of 1995, Collecting Original Art.

Mayor Brodell presented Certificates of Appreciation to Brian Nolan and Sue Cooper for organizing Jonesboro's first Christmas lighting project, "Lights On the Ridge". On behalf of the Jonesboro community, special appreciation was expressed to both Mr. Nolan and Ms. Cooper for making Jonesboro's holiday season so special.
