A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH FISHER & ARNOLD ENVIRONMENTAL

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to enter into an agreement for professional engineering services to perform an Environmental Assessment (EA) to determine if land will meet the United States Fish and Wildlife Service standards as administered by the Arkansas Game and Fish Committee on 199 acres in the vicinity of Moore Road as described in the attachment.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro’s forces are fully employed on other urgent work that prevents their early assignments to the aforementioned work; and,

 

WHEREAS, Fisher & Arnold Environmental is adequately staffed and well qualified, and it has been determined that its current workload will permit completion of the project on schedule; and,

 

WHEREAS Fisher & Arnold Environmental has agreed to provide the Scope of Services detailed in the attached agreement; and,

 

WHEREAS, capital improvement monies have been allocated to fund this work and expenses to secure land suitable for the firing range.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

Section 1:  That the City of Jonesboro shall enter into an agreement with Fisher & Arnold Environmental in the amount of $47,700 to prepare environmental documents in the form of a Environmental Assessment (EA) to meet the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) as administered by the Arkansas Game and Fish Committee on 199 acres in the vicinity of Moore Road as described in the attachment.

 

Section 2:  capital improvement monies have been allocated to fund this work and expenses to secure land suitable for the firing range.

 

Section 3:  The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
