PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing was held at 7:15 p.m. concerning vacating of the unimproved portion of Fourth Street from the northern right of way line of Forrest Avenue, north a distance of 131.5 feet, 40 feet in width. Brian Wadley stated the east side had been maintained while the party of the west side wished to utilize the property for a fence. The party requesting the hearing was not in attendance, therefore, the public hearing was closed.

City Council Minutes - July 15, 1991

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Present were the Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, and all Aldermen with the exception of Mr. Evans who was unable to attend.

The minutes of July 1st, 1991, were approved as corrected on page 1, paragraph 9, Change the following: Mr. Hannah seconded and all voted nay. Also paragraph 10, add the following: Mr. Nix abstained and Mr. Sanderson voted nay. Mr. Shelton moved, seconded by Mr. Hannah, for the approval of the minutes, as corrected. All voted aye.

The Mayor asked for an offer on the first reading of:

AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON AN UNIMPROVED PORTION OF FOURTH STREET

Mr. Sanderson moved, seconded by Mr. Shelton that the offer be denied. All voted aye.

Mr. Shelton offered the following ordinance for the first reading:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 6 .08.11, CLAIMING IMPOUNDED ANIMAL

Mr. Hannah moved and Mr. Shelton seconded the motion to suspend the rules and place on second reading. All voted aye. Mr. Nix expressed concern over the wording of the ordinance in regards to the fee for vaccination. City Attorney Pam Honeycutt agreed to reword the ordinance before the next Council Meeting.

Mr. Sanderson offered the following ordinance for the second reading:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.40.20 LEASED SPACES TO ADD SUBSECTION (D) AUTHORIZING THE CITY COLLECTOR TO LEASE PARKING SPACES IN THE ALLEY IN THE 300 BLOCK BETWEEN CHURCH AND ...
