AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-2) of property described as follows:

 

Part of the 1/4 of the NE 1/4 Of Section 33, T14N-R4E, more particularly described as follows; commence at the NE Corner of the SE 1/4 of the 1/4 of said Section 33, thence S 88º53'18" W 200.47 feet to a point on the West Right-Of-Way of the Missouri Pacific Railroad also the point of beginning;  thence along said Railroad Right-Of-Way on a curve to the left (radius of 5798.68 feet delta angle of 10º22'30") curve length of 1050.14 feet; thence S 11º33'46" W along said Railroad Right-Of-Way 324.68 feet; thence S 88º40'2" W 781.72 feet; thence N 0º14'44" W 1318.09 feet; thence N 88º53'18" E 1154.7 feet to the point of beginning, containing 28.52 acres, and subject to road Right-Of-Way on the North Side.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
