Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism’s Outdoor Recreation Grant Program

Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism granted the City of Jonesboro the 2007 Outdoor Recreation grant for Project number A-10503-07-CG, which is for the construction of a bath house at Craighead Forest Park The grant is a 50/50 matching grant for a total amount of $260,000, which includes $130,000 from the City. The resolution number is RES-07:2562 and was approved by the City Council on December 18, 2007.
The grant was extended in 2008 for the construction of Section II of the Jonesboro Greenway, a playground at Craighead Forest Park at access #6 and bleacher and dugout covers at Joe Mack Campbell Park. The grant amount is for a total of $284,000, which includes $142,000 from the City. The resolution number is RES-08:053 and was approved by the City Council on April 2, 2008.
The City was awarded another Outdoore Recreation Grant for 2015. The grant is for $35,000 to be utilized to fund the Trailhead Project at Craighead Forest Park. The grant agreement was authorized by the City Council via RES-15:133 on September 1, 2015. It was signed on September 4, 2015.
