A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW ROOF ON THE HUNTINGTON BUILDING AS PER BID 2004:47.

WHEREAS, a replacement roof for the Huntington Building is needed to avoid possible further structural damage and to protect users of the facility; and
WHEREAS, the probability exists that the cost of a replacement roof will increase in the near future; and
WHEREAS, bids for the purchase and installation of the roof have been taken, with the low bid of $51,957.00 being received from Jonesboro Roofing Co., Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the 2004 annual budget provides for a Mayor’s Emergency/Discretionary appropriation in the Capital Improvement Fund wherein the Mayor may, upon determination of an emergency, authorize the expenditure of funds for capital improvement purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
The Mayor is hereby authorized, based upon the determination of an emergency, to accept the bid from Jonesboro Roofing Co., Inc., with $15,000.00 of the required funds to be provided from the Mayor’s Discretionary/Emergency Account, line-item 07-100-177-00, with the balance of the funding to be provided from existing 2004 budget line item number 07-100-185-00.
