PUBLIC HEARING - 6:20 p.m. - A public hearing was held as requested by the Jonesboro Industrial Corp. for the purpose of vacating a drainage easement located east of Quality Way, one-half mile south of Highland Drive. No opposition was voiced.

CITY COUNCIL MINUTES, FEBRUARY 5, 1996

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, February 5, 1996, at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: Hubert Brodell, Mayor, Donna Jackson, City Clerk; Phillip Crego, City Attorney, and 12 council members. Those members were: Vance, Wise, Evans, Rega, Province, Young, Perrin, Tate, Kelton, Roddy, Harpole, and Hannah.

The minutes of January 15, 1996, were approved as mailed by Councilman Perrin seconded by Councilman Tate. A voice vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Vance, Wise, Evans, Rega, Province, Young, Perrin, Tate, Kelton, Roddy, Harpole, and Hannah.

Council tabled a decision on the Gary Winters appeal regarding the M.A.PC.’s granting a “Special Use Permit” to Dr. Jack Jones. The Council also tabled agenda item A, the Betty Waddle appeal for rezoning, which had been amended from Commercial Three to Commercial Four. City Attorney, Phillip Crego ruled the ordinance would not have to begin with a first reading, but could be amended and read the third and final time. Both items were tabled at the request of Attorney Charles Mooney, Sr.

The following ordinance was up for second reading:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. ( Dianne Duschl\ C.S. Mooney, Sr.)

No further action was taken regarding this ordinance.

The following ordinance had been read twice then amended from Commercial One to Commercial Three. City Attorney, Phillip Crego ruled the ordinance could be amended and read a third time.
