RESOLUTION CONDEMNING 1205 COTTON BELT STREET

WHEREAS, the City Inspector and Fire Chief of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, have made a full inspection of the property located at 1205 Cotton Belt Street, which is apparently owned by the Nathan Johnson Estate, 1103 Cotton Belt, Jonesboro, Arkansas; and

 

WHEREAS, said officials find and report that a structure located on said property is in a deplorable condition being dilapidated and readily subject to collapse, and further constituting a fire hazard to the surrounding neighborhood and have recommended that such structure be condemned and demolished;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the structure located on the property described above be and it is hereby found and determined to be dilapidated, unsightly, unsafe and a hazard to the public safety and welfare; and that pursuant to City Ordinances and State law the owner of said property shall be given by the City Attorney 90 day notice to remove or tear down such building, and upon the owner’s failure to do so that the said Inspector enter upon said property and premises and remove or tear down such building so that the same is not dilapidated, unsightly, unsafe or hazardous.

 

PASSES and ADOPTED this 3rd day of April, 1967.
