The City Council of the City of Jonesboro met in regular session in City Hall, Monday night, March 20, 1972, at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Pierce, Park, Dr. Bowers, Williams, Darling, Stricklin, Minx, Smith, Bowers, Harris, Johnson and Knight.

Mr. Darling offered the following resolution:

RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING ABANDONMENT OF AN ALLEY ON JOHNSON AVENUE

Mr. Knight moved with Mr. Darling seconding the motion that the resolution be adopted. All present voted aye and the motion was carried. The resolution was given the number 1972:06.

Mr. Knight offered the following resolution and moved for its adoption with Mr. Darling seconding the motion. All present voted aye and the motion carried.

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE CONVEYANCE OF A WARRANTY DEED TO CARL BAJOHR CO.

The resolution was given the number 1972:07.

The condemnation ordinance was read for the 1st time.

The ordinance amending the Board of Adjustment was read for its 1st time.

After the bids were opened, Mr. Harris moved with Mr. Park seconding the motion that low bid from Rayburn Ford for $2,558.00 be accepted. Truck is for the Parks Director. On calling the roll all present voted aye. Motion carried.

After a request from the League of Women Voters asking that the 6 Wards be more evenly divided, Mr. Knight moved with Mr. Johnson seconding the motion that the Mayor appoint a committee to make a study and recommend back to Council. All members voted aye and the motion carried. Appointed were Knight, Park and Mr. Smith.

Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Bowers seconding the motion that bids be taken on a compressor and the City Engineer and Mr. Stricklin set up the specs. All members voted aye and motion carried.

Mr. Knight moved with Mr. Bowers seconding the motion that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee be paid. All voted aye and the motion carried.
