BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

Part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:

Begin at the Northeast Corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas; thence West along the North Line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 23, aforesaid, 466.62 feet; thence South 533.81 feet to the Southwesterly Right Of Way Line of United States Highway #63, the point of beginning proper; thence along said Southwesterly Right Of Way Line as follows:

South 48°31'56" East 432.30 feet, South 22°16'54" East 153.87 feet to the Northeasterly Right Of Way Line of Strawfloor Road; thence South 35°19'52" West along said Northwesterly Right Of Way Line, 181.29 feet; thence North 17.15 feet; thence West 210.00 feet; thence North 499.80 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 2.41 acres.

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
