AN ORDINANCE TO SECURE RIGHT OF WAYS IN DEVELOPING AND RE-DEVELOPING AREAS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO. (NOTE: THIS ORDINANCE WAS AMENDED BY ORD-97:399 ON MARCH 17, 1997)

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: The City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas hereby adopts a master street plan designating streets by functional class.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance establishes six classes of streets. These classes are:
Collector
Minor Arterial
Principal Arterial
Expressway
Section Line
Local Street
SECTION 3: When land is developing or re-developing, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission shall have the authority to reserve the following Right-Of-Ways for each class:
Collector 80 Feet
Minor Arterial 100 Feet
Principal Arterial 120 Feet
Expressway 200 Feet
Section Line 120 Feet
Local Street 60 Feet
SECTION 4: This Ordinance places all current streets into a functional class. These streets shall be designated as shown on the accompanying map, "City of Jonesboro by Functional Class", and by the accompanying street inventory.
SECTION 5: The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission shall have the authority to place future streets into a functional class and reserve the appropriate right of way.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
