RESOLUTION RATIFYING PREVIOUS ACTS OF MAYOR HUBERT BRODELL AUTHORIZING LEASE OF FIVE (5) ACRES FROM ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro previously desired to enter into a lease with Arkansas State University for Five (5) acres of land; and
WHEREAS, then Mayor Hubert Brodell signed a lease on behalf of the City of Jonesboro dated August 23, 1999.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro:
1. That the lease agreement dated August 23, 1999 is hereby ratified in all respects by the City of Jonesboro concerning the lease of the following described property, to-wit:
A part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northeast Corner of the South Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of aforesaid Section 9; thence S89deg,17’51”West 270.97 ft to the point of beginning proper; thence S00 deg.00’00”West 512.77 feet; thence N90deg.00’00” West 462.19 ft to the East right of way line of proposed street; thence N21deg.44’24”W along said right of way line 270.00 ft to the South right of way line of U.S, Highway No.49;thence N82 deg.36’18”E along said right of way line 373.92 ft; thence N51deg.22’34” E along said right of way line 294.67 ft; thence S00 deg.00’00” W 104.01 ft to the point of beginning proper, containing 5.00 acres more or less subject to all rights of way and easements of record.
2. That the City of Jonesboro by such ratification intends to acquire all rights to and assumes all responsibility for the terms and conditions of said lease.
