AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF SPECIAL COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT FOR JONESBORO FIRE DEPARTMENT

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That Jonesboro Fire Department needs to purchase Base Radio, Antenna, Coax, Microphone, Encoder and Power Supply to be used in the 911 Center, and 8 - Model MTX810 Portable Radios, 1- MTX810 Radio Software, 1-RTK Cable to be used for Air Pack (SCBA) Communication.
SECTION 2: That this communications equipment purchased from Motorola Government Sales Division for the State of Arkansas, for the amount of $16,965.19
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 (2B) hereby waive the requirement of competitive bidding and direct the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described equipment for the price set forth above. Said amount shall be paid from the G. L. 120 Act 833 Special Account for the Fire Department.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above equipment, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the Public peace, health and safety shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
