A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO INSTALL STOP SIGNS ON BELT STREET AT THE INTERSECTION WITH SCOTT STREET ESTABLISHING A FOUR WAY STOP AT THE INTERSECTION

WHEREAS, the Permanent Traffic Control Committee for the City of Jonesboro has reviewed and evaluated request from Jonesboro Citizens that the intersection of Belt and Scott Streets be made a four way stop intersection; and

WHEREAS, the Permanent Traffic Control Committee contends said action is in the interest of public safety; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro believes said action is for the use and benefit of the City of Jonesboro and all its residents; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Jonesboro that the City Council authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute this action.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

1.                     Stop signs should be installed on Belt Street at the intersection with Scott Street, establishing a four way stop at that intersection.

2.                     That this action is for the best interest of the residents of the City of Jonesboro.

3.                     The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute said action.
