BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
 
SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes  in zoning classifications as follows: From Residential (R-1)   to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:
 
LEGAL DESCRIPTION
A part of the East 2 of the Southwest 3 of Section 33, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas.  Being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northwest corner of the East 2 of the Southwest 3 of Section 33, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; Thence N 88°58'54"E on the 3 section line 1242.29' to the west right of way line of Arkansas Highway No. 1 (Stadium Blvd.); Thence S 00°23'19"W along said right of way line 342.06'; thence S 88°58'54"W 1238.87' to the 40 acre line; thence N 00°11'08"W along the 40 acre line 342.00' to the point of beginning, containing 9.74 acres, more or less, subject to all rights of way and easements of record.
 
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
